Safe distancing requirement for transport of essential service workers
With reference to Regulation 13(I) of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, bus operators contracted by an essential service provider to provide private transport to convey their essential service workers, are to ensure that every worker is seated at least one metre away from another seated passenger when travelling onboard the bus(es).
As such, please note our recommendations for observing the safe distance while in transit on board our buses as follows:
We encourage our customers to play their part in social responsibility and to take actions that complement the wider situation pertaining to safe distancing.
We strive to keep passengers and our drivers in the best possible environment while in transit.
Mandatory mask-wearing by commuters
In light of MOH’s latest advisory, it is mandatory, with immediate effect, for all to wear masks when they are outside of their homes. This also applies to passengers travelling onboard an Excursion Bus, Private Hire Bus, Private Bus or School Bus. As such, bus driver(s) are to disallow any passenger who is not wearing a mask from boarding any bus(es). The bus driver(s) shall also take appropriate action to ask the passenger to wear his/her mask if the passenger removes his/her mask while travelling in the bus(es). For any uncooperative passenger onboard bus(es) who refuses to wear a mask, the bus driver shall stop the bus at a location that does not obstruct traffic flow and is safe for alighting, and ask the passenger to alight. For abusive passengers, the Police will be called for assistance.
